Christine Karshin is the first permanent dean of Slippery Rock University's new College of Health Professions, which was part of a reorganization of departments at SRU. The college, which launched in fall 2022, has 10 departments, including health care administration, nursing, public health, PT, psychology and social work. Karshin's previous work included serving as associate dean of Eastern Michigan University's College of Health and Human Services. A Johnstown-native, she is a veteran of the Pennsylvania public university system, with degrees from Edinboro University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Penn State University.
