We would like to echo Pitt-Greensburg President Robert Gregerson in his recent call for continuing state funding that makes a college education at Pitt more affordable for Pennsylvania students ( 'Pitt-Greensburg's state discount critical for students, local economy,' June 16, TribLIVE). We are two of the 10,000 Pitt-Greensburg alumni Gregerson mentioned in his commentary and can testify to the critical place the school has in our region and its future. Pitt-Greensburg is embedded in our community and is focused on what our region needs, whether it is nurses and other health professionals, teachers, police, IT professionals or future entrepreneurs.
